SITE RECOMMENDATIONS
Terracon performed Site Assessment Activities in January and February 2023. Based on the results of the 2023 Assessment, concentrations of 1,1-dichloroethene (DCE) were reported above its respective groundwater cleanup target level (GCTL) outlined in Chapter 62-777, Florida Administrative Code
(F.A.C.).
Concentrations of 1,1-DCE were reported above the GCTL of 7 micrograms per liter (µg/L) in MW002I
(14 µg/L). No other detections of 1,1-DCE were reported from the monitoring wells (and piezometers) at the Site. 1,1-dichloroethane (DCA) was detected in MW002I (4.1 µg/L) below its respective GCTL of
70 µg/L.
Other volatile organic halocarbons (VOHs), including cis-1,2-DCE and trans-1,2-DCE, were also detected at PZ004 (58 µg/L and 1.1 µg/L, respectively) below their respective GCTLs (70 µg/L and
100 µg/L, respectively).
Based on this data, Terracon recommends VOHs sampling of the existing monitoring wells to confirm the previously reported VOHs concentrations and evaluate any potential trends of VOH concentrations.
Terracon also performed per-and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) sampling activities during the
February 2023 sampling event. PFOA, PFOS, and their combined sum were reported in MW001S, MW003S, PZ001, PZ002, and PZ004, above the provisional groundwater cleanup target level(s) of 70 ng/L. Based on this data, Terracon recommends PFAS sampling of the existing monitoring wells to confirm and evaluate any potential trends of PFAS at the Site.
DELIVERABLES
The Groundwater Monitoring Report will detail and summarize the groundwater sampling activities, field observations, and results of monitoring well analysis and will include updates to the site’s historical data tables and updated exhibits of groundwater flow and well concentrations. Conclusions and recommendations will include a summary of results and recommendations for future sampling, closure, or remedial activities. As mentioned earlier the PFAS evaluation will be provided in an additional section within this report.
