About this file

This document is a Task Assignment (TA) issued by the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) under Contract Number HW687 to Terracon Consultants, Inc. for groundwater monitoring and reporting services at the Markham's Maytag Laundry (former) facility (ERIC_3989) located in Alachua, Florida. The task assignment was executed on June 23, 2022, with a completion date of October 31, 2022. Dean Cox serves as the Department Project Manager, while Donna Cline represents Terracon as the contractor's project manager.

The task assignment authorizes costs for site reconnaissance, groundwater monitoring and reporting, equipment, sample shipping and analysis, and waste disposal activities. The total contract value is $11,683.60 on a fixed unit rate basis, comprising 62.08 hours of labor. The scope of work includes sampling from 11 monitoring wells for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) using EPA 8260 short-list analysis, with water level measurements from five additional wells. Associated costs include analytical testing at $693.00, sample shipping at $123.50, vehicle rental and per diem at $968.00, field equipment and expendables at $2,329.00, and waste disposal through Erwin Remediation at $100.00. The deliverable is an Annual Groundwater Monitoring Report due by August 31, 2022. The cost was negotiated downward by $923.59 from the original proposal, with labor hours reduced by 6.51 hours. The monitoring is designed to identify current drycleaning solvent concentrations, specifically PCE, which was previously detected above the Groundwater Cleanup Target Level (GCTL) in 2020.

DATE: 6/20/2022

This task assignment (TA) authorizes costs for site reconnaissance and groundwater monitoring & reporting, along with associated costs for equipment, sample shipping and analysis, and waste disposal. The total cost of this TA is $11,683.60 with 62.08 hours of labor. The entire cost of this TA is fixed unit rate.

The cost of this TA was negotiated. Labor costs were reduced by 6.51 hours from the original proposal. The total cost of this TA is $923.59 less than the original proposal.

This groundwater monitoring TA is designed to identify current drycleaning solvent compound concentrations. Only PCE was detected above the GCTL in the previous groundwater monitoring event, completed in 2020. Three wells had PCE above the GCTL in that 2020 event, with a high of 63 ug/L. Site access has been verified.
