COST PROPOSAL FOR TASK DC014D
<Plant City Laundry / FDEP ERIC_4722>
< Tank Closure Assessment >
1. INTRODUCTION: <DISCUSS SCOPE OF WORK, DATES >
GHD previous completed source removal activities following approval of an Interim Source Removal Plan by the Department. During source removal, 2 tanks were discovered within the excavation limits. The tank contents were removed along with the tanks. Following notification to the Hillsborough County EPC, a tank closure assessment was requested by the EPC. Task DC014D includes conducting a tank closure assessment at the site.
Subtask 1: Project Management Subtask 1 includes all tasks associated with project management of the tank closure assessment at the former Plant City Laundry site.
Subtask 2: Tank Closure Assessment In order to complete the Tank Closure Assessment, GHD personnel will mobilize to the site and advance a series of soil boring in and in close proximity to the former tank locations. Soil borings will be advanced with a stainless steel hand auger to the water table (estimated at 4 ft bls) and soil samples will be gathered every foot for field screening with a photoionization detector (PID). Following soil screening, one sample will be selected for confirmation laboratory analysis (unless elevated PID readings are noted). The sample will be analyzed for the presence of volatile organic aromatics (VOAs), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), and total recoverable petroleum hydrocarbons (TRPH) by a State-certified laboratory.
Following completion of the soil sampling, one temporary monitoring well will be installed at the former tank location. The well will be installed by hand using a hand auger into the underlying groundwater. The well will be constructed with 5 feet of prepack well screen and 5 feet of blank casing. Following installation, the well will be sampled in accordance with FDEP SOPs. The groundwater sample will be submitted to a State-certified laboratory for analysis for the presence of VOAs, PAHs, and TRPH.
Upon receipt of analytical data a Tank Closure Assessment report will be prepared in accordance with FDEP guidance
