About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document containing 68 technical and general inquiries related to solicitation number 69056725B000001 for the Neck Lake Road Reconstruction project in Alaska. The Q&A spans from November 26, 2024 to December 30, 2024 and addresses various aspects of the construction project.

Key topics covered include clarifications about fertilizer specifications, embankment phasing, PAG (Potentially Acid Generating) rock disposal, bridge capacities, traffic control requirements, material sourcing, and quantity discrepancies in bid schedules. Notable responses indicate that Amendment A002 will address vibration monitoring requirements, Amendment A004 will clarify PAG rock disposal site preparation, and Amendment A005 will resolve quantity differences between bid schedules and summary tables. The document also confirms that the project will use an optional government-provided material source, requires specific qualifications for the PAG specialist, and addresses concerns about bridge access to quarry and waste sites. Several questions are noted as pending resolution in future amendments.

On 12/18/2024, Amendment A004 changed the current bid schedules along with changes to project drawings. Following a review of these documents, we note the following discrepancies between the quantities shown in the Summary of Quantities and the following line item numbers in the bid schedule: A0880;

A1300; A1400; A1600; A1660; B0880; B1320; B1420; B1620;

B1680; C0920; C1420; C1520; and C1720. Given the quantity differences between the bid schedules and the Summary of

Quantities tables issued with Amendment A004, will WFL be issuing new bid schedules, or are contractors to make Pen & Ink changes to the quantities on bid schedules as issued on

Amendment A004 to match the drawings?

This will be addressed under Amendment A005. 12/30/2024
