About this file
This is a method of approach document for Southwest Siteworks in response to the Arizona Department of Transportation's On-Call Pipelining and Drainage Repair Services contract opportunity. The document outlines Southwest Siteworks' comprehensive strategy for executing remote area projects, emphasizing their systematic approach to project planning and execution. Prior to commencing any remote project work, the company conducts site visits to assess critical logistical factors including material and equipment delivery methods, personnel transportation, crew accommodations, emergency medical facilities, cellular service availability, and proximity to material suppliers and equipment parts providers. Based on these assessments, the company develops detailed project work plans that are distributed to all project team members to ensure coordinated execution.
Southwest Siteworks demonstrates operational readiness for remote work through fully equipped crew trucks stocked with standard maintenance equipment, fuel cells, fire suppression systems, welders, compressors, and commonly used spare parts to address unforeseen issues. The company proposes a work schedule of four ten-hour days per week for remote projects, with crews traveling to sites on Sunday evenings and returning home on Friday mornings. This schedule can be modified to include Friday work if project schedules require acceleration or if crews experience delays due to weather or unexpected conditions. The document emphasizes Southwest Siteworks' commitment to on-time delivery, budget compliance, safety standards, and quality workmanship as foundational principles for all project execution.

Method of Approach- Remote Areas
Southwest Siteworks approaches all projects with a well calculated and thought-out plan to execute projects on time, within budget, safely, and of the highest quality. The major issues while working on remote projects are materials, services, communication, and access.
Prior to any start of a remote project, SWSW project team will visit the site to determine how materials and equipment can be delivered to site, how personnel will travel to site, where crews will stay, the nearest hospital in case of an emergency, how well the cellphone service is, the nearest material/water suppliers, and the nearest equipment parts store.
Upon determining these crucial components SWSW will create a project work plan that details all the mentioned key components of the project. The project team will be issued this work plan to ensure smooth project execution.
SWSW crews are well equipped with all needed material, tools, and supplies to work remotely at any time. Crew trucks all carry standard equipment maintenance items, fuel cells, fire suppression, welders, compressors, and spare parts commonly used with each piece of equipment onsite. This allows for crews to be prepared if an unforeseen issue arises.
Due to the remote locations of this project, and the amount of travel time required to and from each location, crews will work 4 days a week, 10-hour days. Crews will travel to the site on Sunday evenings and will return home on Friday mornings. If for some reason, a project requires an expedited schedule, or if a crew falls behind due to weather or an unforeseen condition, crews will work Fridays.
