About this file

This is a technical specification document for spiral screen screening equipment to be installed as part of the Skytop Lodge Sewage Treatment Plant Improvements Project in Pennsylvania (Project Number 005153.0436). The specification details the requirements for an influent screening system, specifically a spiral screen model with a maximum design flow capacity of 1,265 GPM (1.8 MGD). The equipment includes a perforated screen trough, spiral and brush assembly, transport segments, press zone, discharge bagging assembly, 2 HP motor, speed reducer, pivot assembly, level sensors, water control assembly, and weather protection system with heat-tracing. Acceptable manufacturers listed are JWC Environmental Inc. and Lakeside Equipment Corporation, or approved equals. The equipment must be delivered and stored in dry conditions between 40 and 100 degrees Fahrenheit, remain in original packaging until installation, and include comprehensive operation and maintenance manuals in both printed and electronic formats. A factory representative is required to provide a minimum of one day of inspection and initial startup services, with field training for operations, maintenance, and supervisory staff to be conducted by the manufacturer or its representative.

All equipment must comply with referenced industry standards including ASTM, AISI, SAE, NEMA, NEC, UL, and IEC specifications for materials such as stainless steel (304L, 304, 316, 316L, and 17-4 grades), ductile iron, and carbon steel components. The spiral screen requires stainless steel construction with specific perforations, baffles, and replaceable brush segments, while wear bars must be fabricated from 17-4 stainless steel with minimum hardness of 33 HRc. The motor controller is a NEMA 4X fiberglass enclosure with programmable logic controller, 7-inch touchscreen operator interface terminal, Ethernet/IP connectivity, and comprehensive operational features including level-based auger control, emergency stop functionality, and multiple fail condition monitoring. Paint finishes require Tnemec 1095 Polyurethane in Hunter Green with minimum 3 to 5 mils total dry film thickness for ferrous materials, and all stainless steel welds must be passivated to ASTM A967 or A380 standards. A 12-month limited warranty is provided by the manufacturer, along with support options including a renew program for product replacements, repair and upgrade services, preventative maintenance programs, and factory-authorized spare parts availability.
