About this file

This is a technical specification document for pressure and differential pressure gauges required for the Skytop Lodge Sewage Treatment Plant Improvements Project (Project Number 005153.0436) in Pennsylvania. The project encompasses sewage treatment plant upgrades including installation of an influent screening system, equalization tank, chemical feed system, two clarifier tanks, a post aeration tank, a UV disinfection system, and associated work. The specification establishes requirements for pressure gauges with 2.5-inch photo-luminescent dials, weatherproof liquid-filled cases constructed from phenolic or Pocan thermoplastic materials, and Bourdon tube measuring elements made of stainless steel. Approved manufacturers include Ametek US Gauge, Ashcroft Inc., and Omega Engineering, Inc., with substitutions permitted under Section 01 61 00. The pre-bid conference is scheduled for August 25, 2026 at 10:30 AM at Skytop Lodge STP in Canadensis, Pennsylvania, with bid opening on Friday, September 18, 2026 at 10:00 AM through PennBid. Bid security in the form of a certified check or bid bond is required in an amount not less than 10%, with all questions and notifications to be submitted via the PennBid platform.

The specification requires gauges to comply with ASME B40.100 standards and materials in contact with potable water must be certified to NSF 61 and NSF 372 standards. Measuring elements must achieve accuracy within plus or minus 0.5 percent of full-scale range. Connections shall be located at the bottom with 1/2-inch NPT male threads and brass forging sockets extending minimum 1.25 inches below the gauge cases. Gauges must include pressure snubbers constructed of Type 316 stainless steel with isolation valves, removable rear plates, and clear shatterproof glass windows with gaskets. Manufacturers must demonstrate minimum three years of documented experience in producing specified products. Shop inspection and testing of completed assemblies, along with demonstration of equipment startup, shutdown, routine maintenance, and emergency repair procedures to Owner's personnel, are required prior to project completion.
