About this file

This is a plumbing demolition drawing prepared by the Commonwealth of Kentucky Department for Facilities & Support Services, Division of Engineering, in coordination with KLH Engineers for the Gateway Urban Campus project located at 438-440 Scott Street, Covington, Kentucky. The project encompasses plumbing demolition work on the basement and first floors of the facility and includes detailed specifications for removal and reuse of existing plumbing systems. The scope of work includes demolition of gas piping after the meter, sanitary piping, water supply piping, and a gas meter labeled AC-250, with provisions to reuse an existing 2-inch water service line and gas meter labeled AL-425. Additionally, the project requires verification of existing piping conditions prior to bidding, replacement of a sump pump with a similar model, and rerouting of piping systems where existing walls are removed or fixtures are relocated. The drawing was prepared on December 18, 2015, with professional services provided by KLH Engineers, PSC, based in Lexington, Kentucky.

The plumbing demolition specifications require coordination between the general contractor and plumbing subcontractor to maintain integrity of systems serving fixtures designated to remain, remove all orphaned piping capped beyond finish surfaces, and coordinate removed fixtures with the general contractor for relocation or future use. The project prioritizes preservation of existing plumbing infrastructure where feasible while systematically removing non-functional systems and fixtures, with all work subject to the architectural demolition plan designations for existing conditions to remain. No pricing, contract term, or award information is provided in this drawing document.
