About this file
This document is a fuel cost adjustment schedule for a Wisconsin State Agency contract, dated October 2021. The adjustment mechanism applies to state agency contracts in Wisconsin and establishes a systematic approach for modifying contract pricing based on fluctuations in diesel fuel costs.
The fuel adjustment system is based on U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) weekly retail diesel prices for the Midwest region (PADD 2), with a base fuel index established at $3.104 per gallon as of March 29, 2021. When the average diesel price exceeds $3.17 per gallon, a fee of $0.01 per case is added for each $0.10 increase above this threshold, applied to invoices the following month. Conversely, when prices fall below $2.34 per gallon, a credit of $0.005 per case is provided for each $0.10 decrease below this threshold. The document includes a detailed fee schedule showing escalating charges ranging from $0.01 to $0.08 per case for fuel costs between $3.17 and $3.97 per gallon, and corresponding credits from $0.005 to $0.055 per case for fuel costs declining from $2.34 to $1.24 per gallon. Historical data shows fuel adjustments were implemented from July through October 2021, with fees ranging from $0.01 to $0.03 per case during this period.
