About this file
This document is a fuel cost adjustment schedule for a Wisconsin State Agency contract, effective through August 2022. The document outlines the fuel adjustment mechanism that applies to Wisconsin State Agency procurement activities, with pricing adjustments based on U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) weekly retail diesel fuel prices for the Midwest region (PADD 2).
The fuel adjustment system establishes a base fuel index of $3.104 per gallon from March 29, 2021, with adjustment triggers at $3.17 per gallon for increases and $2.34 per gallon for decreases. When diesel fuel prices exceed $3.17 per gallon, a per-case cost of $0.01 is added for each $0.10 increase above the threshold, applied to invoices in the following month. Conversely, when prices fall below $2.34 per gallon, a per-case credit of $0.005 is applied for each $0.10 decrease below the threshold. The document tracks historical fuel prices and corresponding adjustments from June 2021 through August 2022, with prices ranging from a low of $3.17 per gallon to a high of $5.78 per gallon, resulting in per-case fees ranging from $0.01 to $0.27. The adjustment scale extends up to $5.97 per gallon with a maximum per-case fee of $0.28.
