About this file
This document is a fuel cost adjustment schedule for a Wisconsin State Agency contract, effective July 2021. The adjustment mechanism applies to state agency contracts within Wisconsin and is based on U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) weekly retail gasoline and diesel prices for the Midwest region (PADD 2), with a base fuel index established at $3.104 per gallon as of March 29, 2021.
The fuel adjustment operates on a tiered system with threshold prices of $3.17 per gallon for upward adjustments and $2.34 per gallon for downward adjustments. When diesel fuel prices exceed $3.17 per gallon, a per-case fee of $0.01 is added for each $0.10 increment above the threshold, with adjustments applied to invoices in the following month. Conversely, when prices fall below $2.34 per gallon, a per-case credit of $0.005 is applied for each $0.10 decrement below the threshold. The schedule shows incremental fee structures ranging from $0.01 to $0.08 per case for price increases, and credits ranging from $0.005 to $0.055 per case for price decreases. As of June 21, 2021, with an average diesel price of $3.231 per gallon, a $0.010 per case fee was effective July 1, 2021.
