About this file
This document is a fuel cost adjustment schedule for a Wisconsin State Agency contract, dated July 2022. The document pertains to Wisconsin state agencies and establishes a systematic approach for adjusting contract pricing based on diesel fuel price fluctuations using the U.S. Energy Information Administration's weekly retail gasoline and diesel prices for the Midwest region.
The contract covers goods or services delivered on a per-case basis and implements a dynamic pricing mechanism tied to diesel fuel costs. When the average diesel price exceeds $3.17 per gallon, a $0.01 per case surcharge is applied for each $0.10 increase above the threshold, with adjustments reflected in the following month's invoices. Conversely, when prices fall below $2.34 per gallon, a $0.005 per case credit is provided for each $0.10 decrease below that threshold. The adjustment schedule shows historical fuel prices and corresponding per-case fees ranging from June 2021 through July 2022, with prices reaching as high as $5.780 per gallon in June 2022, resulting in a $0.27 per case adjustment. The base fuel index was established at $3.104 per gallon as of March 29, 2021, and the schedule includes predetermined adjustment rates extending up to $5.97 per gallon with a maximum $0.28 per case surcharge.

| Each time the average price* exceeds $3.17 per gallon, a per case cost of $ 0.01 for each $ 0.10 increase in diesel fuel over $3.17 per gallon will be added to invoices billed in the following month, beginning at the first day of the month. This adjustment Base Fuel Index is based on U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) Weekly Retail Gasoline and Diesel Prices; Diesel (On-Highway) - All Types Price in the Midwest (PADD 2) 03/29/2021 at $ 3.104/gallon. Alternatively, each time the average price* falls below $2.34 per gallon, a per case reduction of $ 0.005 for each $ 0.10 decrease in diesel fuel below $2.34 per gallon will be deducted from invoices billed in the following month, beginning at the first day of the month. The cost adjustment will be made at the bottom of each invoice calculating the cases and the monthly fuel cost adjustment rate. |
