About this file
This document is a fuel cost adjustment schedule for Wisconsin State Agency contracts dated February 2022. The adjustment mechanism is administered by the Wisconsin State government and applies to existing state agency contracts that include fuel cost adjustment provisions.
The fuel adjustment system operates on a tiered structure based on U.S. Energy Information Administration diesel fuel prices for the Midwest region (PADD 2). When the average diesel price exceeds $3.17 per gallon, contractors may add $0.01 per case for each $0.10 increase above this threshold, with adjustments applied to invoices in the following month. Conversely, when prices fall below $2.34 per gallon, contractors must provide a $0.005 per case credit for each $0.10 decrease below this floor. The document shows historical pricing data from June 2021 through February 2022, with diesel prices ranging from $3.23 to $3.63 per gallon, resulting in per-case fees between $0.01 and $0.05. The base fuel index was established at $3.104 per gallon on March 29, 2021, and the adjustment structure includes detailed fee and credit schedules extending down to theoretical fuel prices as low as $1.24 per gallon.
