The following specification sections contain unit prices: 02 82 14.00 10, 05 30 00, 06 10 00, 07 22 00, 07 31 13, 07 41 20, 07 41 13, 07 41 60, 07 51 13, 07 60 00, 07 92 00 and 09 90 00
1.2 DEFINITIONS
CLIN - Acronym for Contract Line Item Number. The CLIN is a sequential number to differentiate between line items. For this project, these numbers follow the sequential industry standard CSI format for specifications. Lower value specification numbers have a lower value CLIN number. The first number in the CLIN represents the contract year, designated in this specification as "X". For example "0" is the basic year, "1" is the 1st option year, "2" is the 2nd option year, etc.
1.3 SUBMITTALS
Government approval is required for submittals with a "G" designation; submittals not having a "G" designation are for Contractor Quality Control approval. The following shall be submitted in accordance with Section 01 33 00 SUBMITTAL PROCEDURES:
No submittals required under this section.
1.4 INCIDENTAL ITEMS
Incidental items include items not specifically listed in the BID SCHEDULE as a separate unit price yet are incidental to the work. Such items include mobilization, demobilization, demolition, overhead (general, job, office), profit, transportation, delivery, disposal fees, as-built drawings, equipment usage/rental, contractor quality control, environmental protection, safety requirements, warranties, caulking/sealant, tools and utilities for performing all work required for which separate payment is not otherwise provided. Labor and material costs are included in the unit price line items. All costs for items of work, which are not specifically mentioned in a particular unit price item, must be included as a percentage either distributed across all line items or included in the unit price for the related item.
Section J – Attachment 2C Page 2 of 9 8 Feb 2010
1.5 UNIT PRICE PAYMENT ITEMS
Payment items for the work of this contract on which the contract unit price payments will be made are listed in the BIDDING SCHEDULE and described below. The unit price and payment made for each item listed must constitute full compensation for furnishing all plant, labor, materials, and equipment, and performing any associated
Contractor quality control, environmental protection, meeting safety requirements, tests and reports, and for performing all work required for each of the unit price items. The unit price items for roof systems are relevant for full replacement or partial replacement.
All unit price items below are organized by CLIN (Contract Line Item Number) with a unique specification number cross referenced to the specification section. The relevant specification illustrates the details, materials and procedures for installation.
PART 2 PRODUCTS (Not Applicable)
PART 3 EXECUTION
3.1 ROOF AREA CALCULATION
3.1.1 Gable Roof
For joint measurement of gable roofs, measure the projected "flat" roof area (building footprint + eaves) multiplied by a slope factor and a waste factor. The slope factor is included in the paragraph below titled "Slope Factor" and the waste factor is included in the respective unit price paragraph.
3.1.2 Hip Roof
For joint measurement of hip roofs (See FIG. I at the end of this specification). Hip roofs contain ends and sides. For the end, multiply the length of the end eave by 1/2 the length to the rafter. This is 1/2 of the end area. Multiply by 2 to calculate the whole end area.
To obtain the side area, add the length of the ridge to the length of the side eaves, divide this sum by 2 and multiply by the length of the rafter (calculates one side of the roof).
Multiply by 2 to calculate the whole roof (sides) Add the end area to the side area. To calculate length of hip tile (clay tile only), multiply the total roof run from eave to ridge, not the hip or valley run, by the slope factor. Convert the hip length to area (SQ), add the roof area to the hip area and multiply the sum by a waste factor.
