About this file

This is a Section 01 73 00 Execution Requirements specification document prepared by Herbert, Rowland & Grubic, Inc. for the West Pump Station Replacement Project in Pennsylvania, to be administered by the Northwestern Chester County Municipal Authority. The specification outlines comprehensive execution requirements for all construction work, including field engineering, system startup, demonstration and instructions, testing and balancing, examination, preparation, cutting and patching, and protection of installed construction. The document establishes that a registered Pennsylvania land surveyor must be employed to locate and protect survey control points, verify setbacks and easements, confirm drawing dimensions and elevations, and submit certified surveys upon completion of foundation walls and major site improvements. All equipment and systems must be verified for proper operation prior to startup, with seven days' notice required to the Engineer and Owner before initiating startup procedures. Demonstrations of equipment operation and maintenance must occur two weeks prior to Substantial Completion, and independent testing, adjusting, and balancing services are to be appointed and paid for by the Owner.

The specification requires contractors to examine existing site conditions and substrate surfaces for acceptability, prepare surfaces according to manufacturer specifications, and execute all work with proper alignment, elevation, plumb, and level. All installed work must be protected during construction, with daily progress cleaning required to maintain site cleanliness and proper waste disposal according to NFPA 241 standards. Defective construction must be repaired or replaced to ensure all components operate properly and finished surfaces are free from visible damage or deterioration. The document establishes uniform joint widths, proper anchorage of products, separation of dissimilar metals to prevent galvanic corrosion, and compliance with manufacturer installation instructions at all times. Maintenance of installed work and lubrication of operable components is required throughout the construction period and through Substantial Completion.
