About this file
This is a Task Group Instruction (TGI) document for cleaning a lubricating oil settling tank and replacing a manhole assembly on the USS RALPH JOHNSON (DDG-114). The work involves cleaning Tank 3-254-2-F (1,175 gallon capacity) located in Engine Room No. 2, replacing the existing 15" x 23" flush deck oil-tight manhole assembly, and installing a new manhole assembly with associated cover plates and bolting rings. The work affects a fire zone boundary and requires fabrication of non-flammable closure.
The work is to be performed between July 14, 2025 and December 11, 2025 at Yokosuka Naval Base. The job order number is 38K5212329 with key operation A01, requiring Level II cleanliness for the piping system/equipment. The total estimated cost is $6,975 with 539 man-hours. Special requirements include air hose testing of new welds with zero allowable leakage. The document details specific material requirements including a new manhole flush assembly made of steel with 1/8" panel thickness and 0-15 PSI test pressure. SRF-JRMC will provide various support services including crane operations, utilities, and safety inspections.
