About this file
This is a Task Group Instruction (TGI) document detailing work requirements for cleaning, assessing, repairing, and preserving an oily waste holding tank (5-220-2-F) aboard the USS RALPH JOHNSON (DDG-114) in Yokosuka, Japan. The work scope includes cleaning to Level III cleanliness, conducting structural and coating assessments, repairing approximately 11 square feet of plate defects in the tank bottom, preserving 52 square feet of defective painted surfaces, and addressing manhole cover plates and bolting rings.
The work is scheduled to begin July 14, 2025, and complete by December 11, 2025. The TGI specifies detailed procedures for welding repairs, surface preparation, and preservation requirements. Government-furnished crane services, utilities, safety inspections, and quality assurance support will be provided by SRF-JRMC. The work is part of a larger ship repair availability package being solicited under contract N6264925RA025, with proposals due March 11, 2025. The total estimated labor hours for this specific tank work is 388 hours.
