About this file
This file is a project priority list for the FY26 Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) FORGE Facilities Modernization Program. The list identifies 18 prioritized construction and infrastructure projects across the installation, ranging from barracks replacement and airfield improvements to training facility upgrades and child development center enhancements. Priority projects include replacing Barracks 3413 & 3414 (300 spaces), establishing a Multi-Domain Operations Training Area, constructing Soldier Performance Readiness Centers (SPRC), and conducting runway and taxiway repairs at McChord Field. Additional projects address HVAC system replacements, airfield security improvements including cipher locks and anti-vehicle barriers, I Corps Joint Doctrine Operations Center (JDOC) phase upgrades, and backup power installations for child development facilities. Each project is assigned a unique project number and IJO number for tracking purposes.
The JBLM FORGE program operates under Section 10 USC 4022 Other Transaction Authority (OTA) and is sponsored by the Army Contracting Command-Mission & Installation Contracting Command (MICC) Theater Support Center in conjunction with the Department of War, Army Materiel Command, U.S. Army Installation Management Command, U.S. Army I Corps, and JBLM Department of Public Works. An Industry Days event was held January 20-23, 2026 at Joint Base Lewis-McChord to facilitate discussions with potential contractors on the facility modernization initiative. The program aims to prototype new construction techniques and technologies while addressing aging infrastructure, improving operational efficiency, and incorporating sustainability initiatives across the installation.
