About this file

This is a technical specification document for Section 16130 Boxes issued by the West Branch Regional Authority for the Route 54 Sanitary Sewer Extension Project, Contract No. WB-1, located in Clinton Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The specification details requirements for electrical boxes including wall and ceiling outlet boxes, pull boxes, and junction boxes that will be installed as part of the sanitary sewer extension project. The project scope encompasses approximately 1,520 linear feet of gravity sanitary sewer, 11 manholes, 13 lateral connections, one duplex sewage pumping station, 404 linear feet of force main, one stream crossing, and associated surface restoration. Sealed bids were received online through PennBid until 1:00 PM on Monday, February 16, 2026. Prospective bidders were required to register as plan holders with PennBid to receive periodic updates including addenda and other project information.

The specification requires outlet boxes to comply with ANSI/NEMA OS 1 standards and includes detailed requirements for sheet metal and cast aluminum boxes for both interior and exterior applications, with specifications varying by installation type and environmental conditions. Pull and junction boxes must meet NEMA 12 ratings for indoor dry areas and NEMA 4 ratings for outdoor or wet locations, constructed of galvanized steel, aluminum, or stainless steel as appropriate. Installation requirements specify box spacing, support specifications independent of conduit, and accessibility standards, with pull boxes required at least every 100 feet of run. Each bid required a certified check or bid bond equal to ten percent of the total bid amount as security. The project is subject to prevailing wage requirements established by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, and contractors must comply with the Pennsylvania Steel Products Procurement Act of 1978.
