Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, bank check, or bid bond equal to 10 percent of the total bid amount.
The specification requires materials to meet specific standards, including ASTM A36 for structural steel, ASTM A500 for structural tubing, and ASTM Type 304 or 316 stainless steel. Hot-dip galvanizing must conform to ASTM 386 with minimum coating of 1-1/4 ounces per square foot. All ferrous metals require prime coats and protective coatings as detailed in Section 09900 (Painting). Fastenings into concrete and masonry must utilize specified systems such as HVA Adhesive Anchor System by Hilti Corp. or approved equals. The contractor assumes full responsibility for obtaining accurate field measurements and ensuring proper fit of all miscellaneous metal components.
