About this file
This document is a Task Group Instruction (TGI) for repair and maintenance work on the USS Blue Ridge (LCC-19), specifically focusing on structural member repairs and various piping system modifications in multiple ship compartments. The comprehensive instruction details extensive technical work involving the removal, modification, and installation of gage piping across multiple systems including main steam, turbine drain, auxiliary steam, feedwater, lube oil, condensate, control air, and firemain systems.
The TGI covers precise technical specifications for 30+ specific piping and structural components, with work to be conducted between 21 July 2026 and 21 November 2027 in the Engine Room Enclosed Operating Station and surrounding ship compartments. Key technical requirements include hydrostatic testing at various pressures, non-destructive testing of welds, installation of new cable transit assemblies, deck sleeves, and stuffing tubes, and comprehensive quality assurance procedures. The work involves multiple material specifications, including steel, copper, and chromium molybdenum alloys, with strict adherence to military specifications and detailed welding and installation standards.
