About this file
This document is a Draft Environmental Performance Work Statement (PWS) for the Hawthorne Army Depot (HWAD) dated June 2025. The PWS outlines comprehensive environmental management requirements for the contractor, including developing and implementing multiple environmental plans within 120 days of contract award. These plans include an Integrated Pest Management Plan, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan, Spill Prevention and Countermeasure Plan, Hazardous Materials/Waste Contingency Plan, Noise Management Plan, Wildland Fire Management Plan, Green Procurement Plan, and Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan.
Key environmental compliance requirements include maintaining operational compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation, Federal, State, and Local regulations, and Army Regulations. The contractor must manage facility operations to minimize hazardous materials and waste generation, ensure proper waste handling, prohibit ozone-depleting chemicals, conduct quarterly environmental quality control meetings, perform environmental assessments, maintain detailed reporting and documentation, and support various environmental management systems. The PWS also covers specific operational requirements such as landfill management, cultural and natural resource protection, and unexploded ordnance sweeps, with an emphasis on comprehensive environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance.
