About this file
This is a specification document for a heavy-duty construction roll-off dump body with hook lift sub-frame required by Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) Fleet Services. The specification details the procurement of one 15-yard capacity dump body unit designed for extreme service conditions, featuring a 15-foot length with unibody construction, AR400 steel components, and a minimum 50-degree dump angle. Key structural requirements include a one-piece 1/4" AR400 steel floor, 3/16" AR400 longitudinals and bracing, a 54-inch high headwall, a 42-inch tailgate, and comprehensive safety features including a folding ladder, grab handles, and mud flaps. The body must be equipped with a driver-controlled air-operated tailgate, permanently attached body support for servicing, and integration with existing MaineDOT hydraulic systems and controls.
The specification requires surface preparation to SSPC #6 Commercial Blast standards with a two-part epoxy primer (6-8 mils dry film thickness) and 3.5 Imron Aluminum finish coat. The vendor must supply and install 8" x 2" hardwood sideboards painted black, LED marker and clearance lights, and accommodate two stainless steel aerodynamic triple light housings supplied by MaineDOT that will be fully welded to the rear posts. All wiring must be protected by loom or conduit with soldered connections and heat shrink wrap, and Deutsch waterproof connectors are required for Whelen lamps. The vendor is responsible for providing parts and repair manuals and ensuring all components, including hoist wear points, are properly lubricated and serviceable. No specific pricing, award date, or contract term information is provided in this specification document.
