About this file
This is a specifications document for a toolbox component to be installed on a truck, likely for a state or local transportation or public works department. The toolbox must be constructed from 10 gauge mild steel with all-welded construction and meet specific dimensional requirements of 18 inches high by 7-3/8 inches wide by 72 inches long (interior dimensions). The box shall feature a hinged door on the driver's side and be installed adjacent to the hydraulic oil tank, extending lengthwise across the truck chassis. A critical operational requirement stipulates that the toolbox must be removable during winter snow and ice removal operations to accommodate the installation of liquid spray tanks. The design may incorporate a nonskid top surface to function as a catwalk but must not interfere with the front dump body's operational capability or necessary front dump angle.
The toolbox must be finished with two coats of primer and at least one topcoat of 3.5 Imron High Gloss Plow Yellow paint to ensure durability and visibility. The completed toolbox must be securely fastened to either the truck chassis or the hydraulic tank frame to ensure stability during vehicle operation. The document was prepared on December 14, 2011.
