About this file
This specification document outlines the requirements for a steel floor platform body equipped with a 3,000-gallon polyethylene water/brine tank and hook lift sub-frame (Item 10). The platform body must be constructed with heavy-duty design for extreme service, featuring a minimum 1.5-inch tongue and groove sealed wood floor, 6-inch one-piece heavy-duty side and end rails, and cross sills positioned at 12-foot centers with double cross sills at front and rear. The structural steel framework includes a full-length, one-piece structural steel channel longitudinal member gussetted to prevent side sway or twist, with 1/8-inch steel tread plate installed over the wooden floor. A cab-height steel bulkhead with screened visibility hole must be included, and the platform body shall utilize only the roll-off sub-frame as the body's long sill with no additional long body sills permitted.
The 3,000-gallon tank component must be constructed of high-density white polyethylene in a low-profile elliptical design with rough dimensions of 144 inches length by 92 inches width by 74 inches height. The tank requires a minimum of three molded cross brace floor supports, an 18-inch minimum threaded opening at the top for tank access, a minimum 4-inch lower rear bulkhead reinforced opening, and anti-sloshing baffle inserts to prevent liquid shifting during transport. The tank must be secured to the platform body using four galvanized steel hoops. This specification was finalized on December 12, 2011, and does not specify pricing, award dates, contract term, or other commercial terms.
