PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK

The proposal contained herein consists of soil assessment activities within the source area as well as conducting annual groundwater sampling and analysis, with a report deliverable. The results will be used to delineate soil exceedances for consideration of a small interior excavation and groundwater samples will be utilized to define current groundwater quality conditions. Specifically, the proposed scope of work consists of the following subtasks:

1. Project Management

This scope is provided for in the Level of Efforts sheets.

2. Soil Assessment and Annual Groundwater Sampling and Analysis

a. Mobilization to the site.

b. Core drill through the existing slab in the former MW013 location and install a temporary well inside the building. The well will be removed at the end of the sampling event, per

c. Collect groundwater elevation measurements of ten monitoring wells (MW001, MW002, MW003R, MW005, MW008, DMW009R, DMW010, MW011, MW012 and MW013).

d. Collect groundwater samples from five monitoring wells: shallow wells MW001, MW003R and MW005, the proposed new temporary well, and deep well DMW009R. The groundwater samples will be analyzed by EPA Method 8260 for Volatile Organic Halocarbons (VOHs) by a laboratory in accordance with protocols approved by the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Laboratory Conference (NELAC).

e. Core drill through the existing slab and advance ten (10) soil borings in locations as provided in the attached sketch. Soil borings will be advanced to 2 ft bls while collecting soil samples at 0.5-1 ft bls and 1.5-2 ft bls for laboratory analysis. The soil samples will be analyzed by EPA Method 8260 for Volatile Organic Halocarbons (VOHs) by a laboratory in accordance with protocols approved by the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Laboratory Conference (NELAC).

f. Decontamination fluids, soil cuttings and other associated investigative derived waste will be containerized and staged in 55-gallon drums, labeled and transported off-site to an approved facility for disposal and treatment.

g. Bore holes will be backfilled with silica sand and the slab patched with concrete/cement.
