RE: Request for Change Order 2 – Valois Canal Plug Repair For the Valois Canal Plug Repair, Dagny Johnson Botanical State Park, Monroe County, Florida

Dear Mr. Post:

Please see attached the proposal for a request for Change Order 2 for CN330, Task Assignment 05, Project #50441. The scope of work for this change order pertains to a Submerged Lands Easement and processing for SFWMD SWERP General Permit Application and Processing.

The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) reviewed the Statewide Environmental Resource Permit SWERP Application submitted pursuant to Subtask 4A and determined that a Sovereign Submerged Lands (SSL) Easement is required to provide proprietary authorization for the Project, as an easement does not exist for the structure.

The SFWMD recommended processing the demolition and construction work pursuant to a General Permit, while the SLL easement is concurrently processed pursuant to the previously submitted Individual Permit Application. As our contract assumed the proposed scope of work would be within the existing submerged lands authorization and no additional submerged lands authorization would be required, we are requesting additional funds to complete and process the additional work associated with the permit application.

The total net increase in the task amount for this change order is $13,140.06. We request 180 calendar days be added to the current task assignment to account for the work associated with the change order tasks.

Sincerely, Leonard Barrera Allen, P.E.

Senior Engineer
