Renovate and Expand Dialysis Clinic Solicitation Number: 36C25220B0021
Project Number: 695-19-131 Solicitation Requests for Information
150. Room Finish Schedule Comments number 2 on Sheet AI601 indicates to provide “High
Build Glazed Coating on Painted Surfaces” in several rooms. However, this product is not identified in the bid documents. What is the basis of design for this Special Coating?
Either of these paints will work as a basis of design for the special coating:
https://www.sherwin-williams.com/architects-specifiers-designers/products/paint-shield-microbicidal-interior-latex-paint https://www.sherwin-williams.com/architects-specifiers-designers/products/promar-200-zero-voc-interior-latex
151. Section 09 91 00 – 3.3.A specifies spray application of paint only upon acceptance of COR in writing. Will spray application of paint be permitted on this project?
No.
152. The Finish Schedule on Sheet AI601 indicates two types of ceiling tiles called AT-1 & AT-2. However, the plans do not indicate which type is required at ACT locations. The Room Finish Schedule Comment #1 on Sheet AI601 indicates locations for “Special Faced Ceiling Panels”. Where is each type of ceiling tile located? What are the requirements for the Special Faced Ceiling Panels?
“Special Faced Ceiling Panels” are referring to AT-2 which is called out as Armstrong Ultima Lay-In in the Finish Schedule. All ceiling tags on AE111 denoted with letter “B” will receive AT-2. Refer to Reflected Ceiling Type Legend on AE111. The rooms containing AT-2 include 7117, 7121, 7124, 7134, 7135, 7136 and 7152.
153. Do you have any pictures of the Stairwell on the 7th floor? There is the note on FP107 regarding the “Location of Floor Control Devices” and based on the drawings I can’t tell if that is the riser location we are now using or not. Because it looks like we are getting rid of the other 6” Fire Lines coming up into the 7th floor. And then even if we can’t get current as-builts of the 7th floor (per one of the RFI answers in addendum 02), do we at least have confirmation that none of the sprinkler heads outside the project area are fed by the Fire Lines we are supposed to demo?
Photos attached. Active fire suppression (sprinkler) riser supporting this 7AS construction project is indeed in the stairwell 7-4 as noted by “LOCATION OF FLOOR CONTROL DEVICES” note on FP107. Regarding the demolition of the “other 6in Fire Lines” comment in the RFI above, that is also correct. Those risers supported hose reels on the floor but have been long abandoned. This construction project will remove this abandoned piping to the 6th floor ceiling. A majority of the existing sprinkler heads INSIDE the project area are fed by the 7AS riser in Stair 7-4. A small bit of project area identified on FP107 (common corridor C7A14 connecting 7AS to 7AN) may require a shut-down to fire suppression riser from Stair 7-5 in 7AN, however (see bubbled area photos attachment). There are three sprinkler heads in this area on the “north” riser from that Stair 7-5. New sprinkler heads in the entire project area shall be tied to the riser from 7AS Stair 7-4.
154. Ref amendment 2 specification 10 21 23- The sole source justification provided with the original solicitation calls out Barrier Free as the manufacture for the curtain tracks.
Amendment 2 specification 10 21 23 notes Barrier Free under 1.1 Description but calls out On The Right Track under 2.1 Products which are 2 different manufactures. The On The Right Track system does not have a wall mount curtain track system that can swing clear of the patient lifts as described and is substantially less in cost than the Barrier Free system.
What type of cubical track system is required?
Barrier Free is a sole source provider per Hospital EMS. That inconsistency has been resolved in the specification and is included with this amendment.

See attached document: 10 21 23 - CUBICLE CURTAIN TRACKS.
