• Where TRs are being designed, replaced, expanded, or otherwise considered for use specifically in EHRM Modernization projects in existing buildings that provide healthcare, the guidance in HEFP SEP (SOCAMES

6) Design Alert 4 shall be used. This guidance requires a minimum of a 100 square foot 2-Channel Rack TR in a 10’ x 10’ form factor in lieu of the 170 square foot TRs required of new construction.

• TRs conform to the rectangular form factor described in Appendix B of the VA Infrastructure Standard for Telecommunications Spaces. Essentially, room width will vary per area and number of Channel Racks, and space provided by VA for new TRs. However, the typical room depth should be 10 feet, and the typical room width should be 8, 10, 12 or 14 feet.
