About this file

This is a 100% Construction Documents Submittal comprising Specifications Volume 3 (Divisions 21-26) for the Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) Infrastructure Upgrades project at Togus VA Medical Center in Augusta, Maine. The document is organized into four volumes covering procurement requirements, general requirements, existing conditions, and specialized systems including fire suppression, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, communications, and security systems.

The fire suppression work includes design and installation of a wet-pipe automatic sprinkler system for the new Main Computer Room building, with modifications to existing systems in telecommunications rooms and electrical spaces. The system must comply with NFPA 13-2022 standards, utilize hydraulic calculations based on provided water supply data (65 psi static, 58 psi residual, 1,113 gpm flow), and include separate control valves for data center and entrance rooms per NFPA 75 requirements. A clean agent fire suppression system using IG-541 agent is required for Data Center Room 111 and the cold aisle containment, designed per NFPA 2001 and NFPA 72 with dual-zone smoke detection, manual activation/abort stations, pre-discharge and discharge notification appliances, and coordinated CRAC unit and equipment shutdowns. All work requires shop drawing submittals signed by NICET Level III or IV technicians (or PE stamped), detailed hydraulic and battery calculations, as-built drawings in multiple formats, material and testing certificates, operations and maintenance manuals, and comprehensive training of VA personnel. The contractor must possess valid Maine fire protection contractor licensure, demonstrate ten years of relevant experience, and coordinate with the Togus Fire Department for flow testing and system modifications without interrupting existing services.
