About this file

This is a Grading Plan drawing for the Portland International Airport North Runway Rehabilitation project in Oregon, specifically detailing Runway 10L-28R from Station 291+50 to Station 299+00. The drawing, prepared by HNTB Corporation and dated October 2026, provides detailed grading and drainage specifications for the runway rehabilitation work. The document includes finish paving contours at 1-foot and 0.2-foot intervals, existing contours, paving limits, taxiway free object area boundaries, and proposed surface flow directions. Key specifications require the contractor to remove a minimum of 4 inches of soil between project grading limits and outer edges of existing paved sections, with additional material removal directed by the Port to eliminate deeper roots or other objectionable organic material. The top 2 inches of disturbed infield grading must consist of topsoil meeting specification T-905, and finish grade includes a 1.5-inch pavement drop at the edge of shoulder to infield grading.

The drawing serves as a technical specification document for construction contractors and includes comprehensive drainage infrastructure details such as catch basins, manholes, slotted manholes, cleanouts, existing storm pipes, and existing underdrains. The plan incorporates runway and taxiway lighting locations and provides a scale of 1 inch equals 50 feet for reference. The document was prepared by Garrett P. Stevens, a registered professional engineer in Oregon (License No. 89696PE, expiration 06/30/28), with design by Gene Tupper, drawn by G. Stevens, checked by C. Aasland, and reviewed by B. Foster. This grading plan is one component of the larger North Runway Rehabilitation project at Portland International Airport and is part of drawing set PDX 2026-501, Sheet C6.08.
