1.2 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
1.2.1 Structural Performance
Provide metal building systems capable of withstanding the effects of gravity loads and the following loads and stresses within the limits and conditions indicated.
1.2.1.1 Engineering
Design building systems conforming to ICC IBC .

1.2.1.2 Design Loads
Conform to the requirements of ICC IBC and ASCE/SEI 7-05 .
1.2.1.3 Live Loads
Include all vertical loads induced by the building occupancy, as well as loads induced by maintenance workers, materials and equipment for roof live loads.
1.3 SUBMITTALS
Government approval is required for submittals with a "G" designation;
submittals not having a "G" designation are for Contractor Quality Control approval. When used, a designation following the "G" designation identifies the office that will review the submittal for the Government.
Submittals with an "S" are for inclusion in the Sustainability eNotebook, in conformance to Section 01 33 29 SUSTAINABILITY REPORTING. Submit the following in accordance with Section 01 33 00 SUBMITTAL PROCEDURES:

1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE
1.4.1 Manufacturer's Qualifications
Guard booth system manufacturer must have a minimum of five (5) years experience as a manufacturer of guard booth systems and accessory products.
Provide engineering services by an authorized currently licensed engineer in the geographical area where construction will take place. Provide certified engineering calculations.
1.4.2 Structural Steel
Comply with AISC 325 , AISC 341 for seismic impacted designs, AISC 350 , and AISC 360 , for design requirements and allowable stresses.
1.4.3 Cold-Formed Steel
Comply with AISC/AISI 121 and AISI SG03-3 for design requirements and allowable stresses.

1.5 SHIPPING, HANDLING AND STORAGE
1.5.1 Delivery
Package and deliver components, sheets, metal panels, and other manufactured items so as not to be damaged or deformed and protected during transportation and handling.
1.6 PROJECT CONDITIONS
1.6.1 Field Measurements
1.6.1.1 Established Dimensions for Foundations
Comply with established dimensions on approved anchor-bolt plans, established foundation dimensions, and proceed with fabricating structural framing. Do not proceed without verifying field measurements. Coordinate anchor-bolt installation to ensure that actual anchorage dimensions correspond to established dimensions.
1.7 COORDINATION
Coordinate size and location of concrete foundations and casting of anchor-bolt inserts into foundation walls and footings. Concrete, reinforcement, and formwork requirements are specified in Division 03 Section "Cast-in-Place Concrete".
Coordinate metal panel assemblies with rain drainage work, flashing, trim, and construction of supports and other adjoining work to provide a leak-proof, secure, and non-corrosive installation.
PART 2 PRODUCTS
2.1 Guard Booth
The guard booth shall be ballistically rated to National Institute of Justice - Level 1V (NIJ-IV) including the roof.
Booths shall be seated on raised 6-inch minimum concrete curbed slab and/or sidewalk. Provide roof overhang as indicated.
The guard booths shall have swing door with large windows, as indicated, with heavy-duty hardware. The windows shall be moderately tinted.
Locksets on doors shall meet UL 437.
Provide heavy-duty steel workbench type counters with drawers and electrical access ports. Counters shall have a depth of 24 inches and a height of 36 inches.
Provide an in-line centrifugal fan supply, and a split system heat pump.
See mechanical drawings for mechanical equipment schedules.
All electrical components shall be UL approved and installed in accordance with the NEC. Panel boards shall be 100A, 24 circuit, 208Y/120V 3-phase 4-wire with bolt on circuit breakers. All luminaries shall be LED and be connected to dimmer switches. All electrical receptacles shall be 20A. See electrical drawings for other systems and cabinets to be installed.

Finish shall be corrosion resistant with a finish coat of two-component industrial paint in accordance with the Steel Structures Painting Council.
The booth shall have conduit, wiring, and connectors for two dial telephones.
Provide Roof capable of supporting mechanical condensing unit weighing 120 lbs.
Submit Detail Drawings, Manufacturer's catalog data, and Manufacturer's descriptive and technical literature demonstrating conformance to these requirements.
2.2 Hazardous Materials Storage Building
UL Approved 4-hour bi-directional design with dimensions and compartments as indicated in the drawings.
Assembly: weatherproof, fire rated, non-combustible construction per UL U490, with two (2) layers of 3/4" UL classified fire-resistive wallboard fastened to interior and exterior sides of load-bearings steel studs.
Mineral wall batts, nominally 3" thick, minimum 4pcf. The interior and exterior surfaces clad with corrosion resistant galvanealed steel sheets.
Base: open channel construction with structural steel hold-down brackets as recommended by manufacturer for securing to foundation.
Containment: minimum 30% of total storage capacity.
Doors: 3-hour fire rated, 60"W x 80"H UL classified and labeled, with UL listed self closers and exterior security locks with keyless interior safety release levers.
Finish: Exterior finish to have high solids, chemical resitant epoxy undercoat with heat reflective white aliphatic polyurethane topcoat.
Interior finish to have high solids, chemical resistant epoxy coating with white aliphatic polyurethane topcoat.
Signage: DOT hazard classification placards with rust-proof aluminum holder and stainless steel clips and pressure sensitive NFPA 704 Hazard Rating Signs.
Electrical: Provide Class 1 Division 1 LED ceiling mounted luminarires to provide 20 footcandles average at the floor. Provide Class 1 Division 1 weatherprooof light switch outside the door with pilot light. Conduit and wiring shall be rated for Class 1 Division 1 environment. Coordinate electrical connection points shall be located on top or side of unit to allow National Electrical Code access.
PART 3 EXECUTION
3.1 EXAMINATION
Before erection proceeds examine with the erector present the concrete foundation dimensions, concrete surfaces, anchor bolt size and placement, locations of bearing plates, and other embedment's to receive structural framing with the metal building manufacturer's templates and drawings before erecting any steel components for compliance with requirements for installation tolerances and other conditions affecting performance of the

Work.
Proceed with erection only after unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected.
3.2 INSTALLATION
Install the guard booth in conformance with the booth manufacturer's shop drawings and written installation instruction. Finished installation shall be water tight.
Do not field cut, drill, or alter structural members without written approval from booth manufacturer.
