About this file
This document contains an errata notice and specifications for a federal contract opportunity to perform repairs, upgrades and maintenance on a U.S. Navy training support vessel. The errata updates specification packages for work including installation of new MV3000 drives and automation systems throughout the ship, as well as towing services to transport the vessel from Beaumont, Texas to the contractor's facility. The specifications require the contractor to utilize original equipment manufacturers for installation and testing assistance, perform cable installations according to standards, conduct air hose and operational tests, and apply paint in accordance with approved schedules. Towing services must be provided by licensed pilots and equipment with a towboat and bridle to maintain seaworthiness, following Navy towing manuals and requirements for preparing the ship for open ocean towing.
The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation to conduct the regular overhaul of the USNS Vindicator (TSV 5) at the contractor's facility, including drydocking, pier-side maintenance and repairs, equipment upgrades, and certifications from the American Bureau of Shipping. Systems listed as potential areas of work include propulsion, power, command and control, steering, fuel, electrical, communication, hull and structures. The solicitation is full and open competition under NAICS code 336611 for ship repair and maintenance services.
