This addendum provides additional requirements for a ship towing services contract opportunity. The contractor will be required to tow USS Vindicator (TSV-5) from Galveston, Texas to the contractor's facility, maintaining the ship in a seaworthy condition during towing according to the Navy Towing Manual and Navigation Rules. The contractor must prepare the ship for towing by submitting a completed tow rigging checklist and conducting welding inspections and repairs. Systems slated for potential repair include propulsion, power, command and control, steering, fuel, electrical, communication, hull and structural components. Equipment upgrades and modernization will also be conducted. The solicitation was issued by the Department of the Navy Naval Sea Systems Command as a full and open competition under NAICS code 336611.
