Statement of Work South Amelia Island Shore Stabilization Project Peer Review
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection received a Joint Coastal Permit application for the South Amelia Island Shore Stabilization Project from Olsen Associates. The Florida Park Service requested that Taylor Engineering prepare the following scope of services to perform a peer review of the permit application package and up to two requests for additional information.
Task 1: Data and Modeling Review
Taylor Engineering will review the numerical modeling related data, model application, and modeling results presented on pages 24 – 37 of Attachment #21 of the permit application. We will review the model calibration/verification data, procedure for model validation, and input data and application of the model for the evaluation of pre- and post-excavation conditions as presented in Attachment #21. Our review will include an opinion on the adequacy of model input data used for model calibration/verification and model application for evaluation of pre- and post-excavation conditions. We will comment on the potential impacts of the proposed borrow area discussed on page 37 of Attachment #21. This scope of work excludes direct review of the actual data used in the numerical modeling; our review is limited only to the material presented in Attachment #21.
