About this file

This document is a Department of Defense Clothing and Textiles raw material specification for a nylon plain weave fabric (Fabric# AR-MTP-24-134) for the Army in 2024. The specification details precise material properties and testing requirements, including a maximum fabric weight of 3.3 oz/yd2, minimum break strength of 100 lbs in both warp and fill directions, and specific color fastness standards using AATCC testing methods.

Key technical requirements include dimensional stability with a maximum 5% change, toxicity standards ensuring compatibility with prolonged skin contact, and defect criteria for manufacturing. The fabric will be available in two colors - Tan (499) and Urban Gray (501/505) - and will be packaged in continuous lengths of at least 50 yards per roll. The specification is marked with Distribution Statement A, indicating approved public release with unlimited distribution, and is prepared by the Combat Capabilities Development Command Soldier Center.
