About this file
This solicitation requests proposals for Vessel Acquisition Manager services. The Maritime Administration intends to acquire used vessels through this contract to fulfill Department of Defense sealift requirements as part of the Navy's plan to recapitalize the government-owned sealift fleet. The selected contractor will identify suitable commercial vessels, conduct screening and make purchase recommendations to the government based on technical and cost factors. The contractor will then purchase selected vessels, re-flag and re-classify them to U.S. standards, modify the vessels for initial readiness and operational capability, and provide custodial services such as maintenance, repair and activation support. The solicitation seeks these acquisition and support services to recapitalize forty-six Ready Reserve Force vessels and multiple Military Sealift Command ships. Proposals are due by the date specified in the solicitation.
