123. Question: It looks like the fence scope is limited to the drop arm gate and the 160 LF of fence on sheet C121. The fence note on C121 references a detail, but there is none. Is there a detail or spec we need to bid off of for the fence? Also, that fence stops short of the building? Is that correct? Is there any more information regarding the drop arm gate on C503 and C101?
Answer: See Amendment 0005 revised C-121. The 169 LF permanent chain link fence has been removed from C-121. There is no chain link fence by the drop arm.

125. Question: Would you like one or two brine tanks? If 2, we would have BOTH of them serve as a combined salt saturator & brine tank for their respective water softener tanks. Is that ok?
Answer: See Amendment 0005 revised Section 22 31 00. Reference Section 22 31 00, Part 2.2.3.
126. Question: Our brine tanks will not have an underdrain system & will not have a layer of gravel or a screen for filtering the brine. Is that ok?

Answer: See Amendment 0005 revised Section 22 31 00. Reference Section 22 31 00, Part 2.4.1.
130. Question: The spec is calling for a "hardness tester" to be installed in the soft water line leading from each softener unit. Our system does not include a 'hardness tester". Is that ok?
Answer: See Amendment 0005 revised Section 22 31 00. Reference Section 22 31 00, Part 2.6.1.
131. Question: Can we use our standard Inlet/Outlet pressure gauges and sample cocks?

136. Question: My question is regarding the inlet gas pressure coming into the building. On drawing number M-131 it shows a note: Estimated new load of 4465 CFH @ 5 psi. My question is will this system exceed the 5 psi design pressure? Per NFPA 54 the maximum design pressure for the piping systems located inside a building shall not exceed 5 psi unless some conditions are met.
Answer: Gas pressure would not exceed 5 psi within the building. 5 psi is the pressure on the downstream side of the pressure regulator which is located outside the building. You will then have pressure drop thru the gas meter and the distribution piping. As such, the gas pressure will be less than 5 psi throughout the building. It will then be stepped down again at each piece of equipment. This allows small piping to be used for the gas pipe distribution system within the building.
137. Question: Per Spec Section 01 45 00.00 10 Quality Control that was added in Amendment 04, Part
3.3.3 CQC Personnel calls out for quality control specialists that are required be physically present at the construction site during work on the specialized personnel’s areas of responsibility. Listed in this section is Occupied Family Housing. It is our assumption that this was inadvertently added to this section. Can the government please confirm that this is the case or clarify when this individual would be required to be onsite?
Answer: See Amendment 0005 revised Section 01 45 00.00 10, Part 3.3.3 to remove reference to Occupied Family Housing from Experience Matrix table.
138. Question: Advantor Systems (Sole Sourced provider) has notified us that they’re not bidding unless they receive the following answers to these questions:
Sheet TY121 of the drawing package displays to Audible alarm at the top of the Hangar. Advantor is not familiar with this type of device. Can the Government provide advisement on what type of device they are looking?
Sheet TY121 of the drawing package has a note pointing to a card reader that states “PEDESTAL CARD-READER SEE CIVIL DETAIL 3/C504 FOR PEDESTAL DETAIL”. When reviewing the referenced Civil Detail, it does not provide any pedestal related information. If the Government could provide clarification on the need for the card reader, it would be greatly appreciated. With it being sole sourced, I can’t get bids from other contractors. Is there anything you can do to help?
Answer: The audible alarm is not connected to the ADVANTOR system.
See Amendment 5 revised T-121 where note at pedestal reader has been changed to reflect correct detail reference 8/C-503. The pedestal card-reader is tied into the Schneider Electric (Andover) System for Access Control (See Note 9.802). It is not connected to the ADVANTOR system.
139. Question: Sheet C-102 shows Type C joint as a longitudinal construction joint. The details on sheet C-504 shows that as a Dowel Basket, that cant be constructed in that manner. I think you meant the type C joint to be drilled and grouted as a loose dowel. It is likely the contractor will pour this job in 10-0 0r 20-0 lanes.
Answer: See Amendment 0005 revised sheets C-102 and C-504 for clarification Type C joint and introduction of Type D joint.
140. Question: Sheet 504 also needs a detail for dowel bar diameter and dowel bar on center spacing, ex: 12” o.c. 18”o.c.?
Answer: See Amendment 0005 revised sheet C-504 for clarification on dowel bar size & spacing. A third note was added to detail 12 of the Welded Wire Reinforcement section: “11" P.C.C. use 1" diameter x 18" epoxy coated dowels @ 12" C-C Spacing”.
141. Question: Please confirm the fan weight of the destratification fans. Can you please provide the diameter for the high velocity fans listed on the Destratification Fan Schedule?
Answer: Weights of destratification fans as scheduled in M-602 are confirmed for basis of design units. There may be variation depending on manufacturer selected. The basis of design velocity fan is 15" diameter.
