About this file
This document is a technical specification section (Section 08 35 13) for folding doors for the FY24 MCON P-614 Joint Consolidated Communications Center project at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam. The specification details precise requirements for bi-folding doors, including detailed technical specifications for door construction, hardware, electric door operators, and performance standards. Key technical requirements include door framing made of 11-gauge structural steel tube with 14-gauge sheet steel exterior/interior faces, specialized hardware with dual shear hinges, stainless steel fold hinges, a full-width hood, weatherstripping, and a typhoon locking system.
The electric door operators must be overhead-mounted electro-mechanical drive units designed for high-cycle operation, with specific motor characteristics including three-phase 208/260/480 VAC power, comprehensive control systems with programmable logic controllers, safety features like photo eyes and fail-safe electric edges, and limit switches. The specification mandates a two-year warranty on rotating arm and trolley mechanisms, requires six copies of operation and maintenance manuals, and specifies detailed installation, adjustment, and cleaning procedures. The doors are expected to operate a minimum of 10 cycles per day and must meet strict performance requirements for wind loading and structural integrity.
