About this file
This is a technical specification section for the installation of recovery well pumps as part of the Phase III Groundwater Treatment Plant project.
The specification requires the contractor to furnish and install four submersible, shrouded centrifugal pumps with complete appurtenances including pump controls, level switches, connectors, clamps, couplings, discharge hose, support cables, electrical cables, and related equipment. The pumps must be Grundfos make or approved equivalent, preassembled as single units, and sized to fit within a 12-inch nominal well casing diameter. Three specific pump models are identified: P-8 (GRUNDFOS MODEL 625S300-2AA) with 30 HP motor at 460V, 3 phase, 60Hz serving recovery well RW-8 at 450-600 gpm design flow and 107-111 feet total dynamic head; P-9 (GRUNDFOS MODEL 625S300-2AA) with 30 HP motor at 230V, 3 phase, 60Hz serving RW-9 at 450-600 gpm and 115-126 feet TDH; and P-10A (GRUNDFOS MODEL 625S400-2) with 40 HP motor at 230V, 3 phase, 60Hz serving RW-10A at 600-700 gpm and 145-159 feet TDH. Materials must be stainless steel (304 SS for most components, 316 SS for coupling and support cables) with PTFE components for valve seats, impeller seal rings, and intermediate bearings. The contractor must provide tools, spare parts, shop drawings, product data, factory and field test reports, operation and maintenance manuals, and arrange for manufacturer's representative supervision during 5 working days of installation and testing, plus 4 hours of video-recorded training for operating and maintenance staff.
