Page Section Paragraph Question Response
Spec Section 43 21 13
2.1.A.10
The P-10A pump noted in the schedule states a 3 Phase, 230V power supply for the 40 HP deep well motor, but Grundfos cannot provide this (maximum 3 Phase, 230V is a 30 HP motor). Please advise if we can provide an alternate and utilize 3 Phase, 460V power for P-10A. in order to make the motor 40 HP.
The pump motor should be 3 phase 460 volt. The Navy has been working with PSEG in the area and are anticipating connecting their 230 volt single phase to 460 volt single phase, and then 460 volt three phase. The contractor should anticipate that this conversion equipment will be in place for RW9, and will still be required for RW10A.
Spec Section 43 21 14
2.1.A.11
All 6" motors are supplied with a 16.5-foot-long power cable only. If an extended cable is required, the cable and splice kit must be supplied by the contractor.
No response. Our understanding is that the motors are typically wired in the field. For down well pumps/motors, the wire length can be specified.
Spec Section 46 30 00
2.2.3.1
The injection pressure listed in the table is 100 psi, which is quite high for peristaltic pumps. They will be able to handle this pressure; however, tubing will need to be replaced frequently. If the injection pressure is this high, a diaphragm pump may be a more suitable alternative.
Please confirm actual injection pressure and if a diaphragm pump would be considered as an alternative.
The injection pressure listed is a maximum for the pump. Actual working pressures will be approximately 20 to 30 psi.
17 8 Factor 1 Non-Price Proposal
Solicitation SF 1442- Factor 1 indicates "Offeror must have performed as the Prime Contractor for each project submitted. Experience of proposed subcontractors will not be considered." We would like to request that the Navy consider the offeror team experience to bring a higher value to the work execution. If the Offeror has several critical subcontractor team partners then the collective experience is a benefit for the Navy. We would like to request that the past performance of our team partners be considered in the evaluation criteria for Factor 1.
Please see the updated Factor 1 in Amendment 0002.
Can the Government confirm that performance of this contract will involve Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) or is it possible that the classification would be reduced to Federal Contract Information (FCI) only.
Please see Amendment 0002. The CUI labels have been removed from the specifications and drawings. However, please handle documents carefully as they contain sensitive information.
I noticed that a coconut carbon is specified, and it is required for the product to be produced in the United States.
Coconut carbons are not produced in the US, but rather imported. I would need to know whether we should provide an imported coconut GAC product or a coal-based product manufactured in the
While coconut shell-based carbon is preferred for this application, acid-rinsed coal-based carbon can also be used. Attached is the revised specification (Attachment L- Section 43 31 13.13 10).
