About this file

This document is a technical specification attachment for Delivery Order N40085-23-F-4245 under project P-1112 B72 Resiliency Improvements, Section 46 30 00 (Water Supply and Treatment). The deliverables consist of four technical tables and one venting requirements specification detailing chemical feed systems, tank specifications, and tank accessories for a water treatment facility.

Attachment #1 specifies 11 chemical feed pumps with manufacturers Prominent and Finish Thompson, operating at concentrations ranging from 12.5% to 100%, with flows from 0.95 gallons per hour to 71.6 gallons per minute. Applications include bleach feed, acid/bisulfite injection for ultrafiltration (UF) and reverse osmosis (RO) systems, cleaning-in-place (CIP) operations, and pH adjustment, with pumps powered at 30W to 110W and operating at 60 Hz on 120V or 460V systems. Attachment #2 provides polyethylene tank venting requirements for mechanical pump fill and pneumatic fill configurations, specifying vent sizes and emergency pressure relief covers based on tank capacity and fill method. Attachment #3 lists nine chemical storage tanks (1,000 to 20,000 gallons) manufactured by Syndar Industries and Polyprocess Safety Tank, constructed as single or double-walled polyethylene with EPDM or Viton gaskets and 316SS or C-276 metallurgy for chemicals including citric acid, sulfuric acid, sodium bisulfite, caustic soda, antiscalent, sodium hypochlorite, and RO cleaning agents. Attachment #4 specifies tank accessories including overflow tanks (50 to 100 gallons), outlet/inlet/fill connections, flanged fittings, and specialized materials (titanium for seawater and hypochlorite applications, C-276 for sulfuric acid), with selected tanks requiring insulation and heating capabilities.
