About this file
This file is a comprehensive set of architectural drawings and design documentation (Volume 2 of 4) for the P-995 Composite Repair Facility, a 105,755 square foot (105,742 SF actual) depot-level facility at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina. The facility is designed to consolidate advanced composites and rotor blade repair operations, with a scheduled completion date of December 24, 2025. The project is governed by multiple Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) standards, NFPA codes, and accessibility standards including ADA and UFAS compliance. Key facility components include a composite repair and manufacturing shop with disassembly, parts kitting, production control, clean parts, assembly, dirty room, bonding room, clean room, classrooms, and engineering/laboratory spaces; an aircraft rotor blade repair shop with disassembly, staging, dirty room, sanding pit, and bonding room; and shared spaces including painting, parts wash, freezer, hygiene facilities, bathrooms, and breakrooms.
The design incorporates 105 rooms across six planning areas (A through F) with detailed specifications for wall types, finishes, fixtures, and mechanical systems. The structure utilizes wet-pipe and dry-pipe sprinkler systems across five zones, with an elevated water storage tank providing 240,000-gallon capacity at 120 feet minimum level. The building features architectural and structural elements including CMU walls with brick veneer, prefinished metal cladding, multiple bridge cranes throughout production areas, autoclaves (3x5, 8x20, and 15x40 models), composite ovens, sanding booths with enclosed chambers, paint booths, walk-in freezers, and dust collection equipment. Fire alarm and mass notification systems are integrated throughout with 110-candela and 75-candela strobes, multiple speakers, manual pull stations, and smoke detectors. The design team includes MBF Architects as architect, Stantec for civil and landscape, Jensen Hughes for life safety and fire protection, Kaydos-Daniels Engineers for structural, and multiple engineering consultants for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and specialized systems.
