About this file
This file is a technical drawings document (Volume 1 of 4) for the P993/P995 F-35 Aircraft Sustainment Center and Composite Repair Facility at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina. The drawings provide detailed construction specifications and design documentation for this two-facility complex under solicitation N4008526R0002, awarded to pre-qualified offerors ECC Atlantic Construction and Walsh Federal for Segment II.
The project encompasses a 255,461 square-foot depot-level hangar designed to support twenty F-35 aircraft, featuring maintenance bays, four paint booths, administrative space, aircraft part modification and tool shops, and a secure ICD705-compliant area. The facility utilizes precast structural concrete panels with pile-supported foundation, slab-on-grade flooring, and cross-laminated timber roof decking in a single-story configuration with two-story administrative space. The second component is a 105,755 square-foot Composite Repair Facility containing a composite repair and manufacturing shop with disassembly, kitting, production control, assembly, bonding, and clean room areas, alongside an aircraft rotor blade repair shop with disassembly staging, sanding pit, and bonding capabilities. Site development includes utility infrastructure improvements to support Hancock Village, taxiway construction with bridge, and aircraft parking apron. Shared support spaces encompassing painting, parts washing, freezer, hygiene facilities, and breakrooms are integrated to optimize construction costs and sustainability performance.
