About this file
This is an Engineering Systems Requirements (ESR) document detailing the HVAC system requirements for the P-909 SOF SDVT2 Operations Support Facility at JEB Little Creek, VA. The document specifies a Variable Air Volume (VAV) system with single duct air terminal units and hot water heating coils, requiring air-cooled chillers with heat recovery capability for chilled water and two natural gas fired boilers for heating hot water.
The system must maintain specific temperature conditions including 91°F dry bulb/76°F wet bulb for summer and 27°F for winter outdoor conditions, with indoor temperatures of 78°F/50% RH for summer and 68°F for winter. Key requirements include NEMA premium highest efficiency motors, total enthalpy energy recovery device with 50% efficiency assumption, demand-controlled ventilation per ASHRAE 62.1, BACnet-compatible Direct Digital Control (DDC) system integration with existing building automation, and dedicated DX systems for telecom/NMCI rooms. The document also mandates complete testing, balancing, and commissioning of all HVAC systems, with specific requirements for industrial dehumidifiers capable of removing 4.2 liters per kilowatt-hour and moving up to 500 CFM of air.
