About this file
This is a room requirements specification document for room D109 (Compressor Room) within the P-909 SDVT-2 Operations Support Facility project at JEB Little Creek-Fort Story, Norfolk, Virginia. The document details the technical requirements for a space designed to house a 5,000 psi rated compressor unit and two 8' x 3' stacked storage tanks.
The specifications require a minimum 12' ceiling height, STC 60 acoustic separation from adjacent spaces, and no regular occupants. Key infrastructure requirements include structurally reinforced concrete slab flooring, 6' x 8' insulated heavy-duty galvanized steel doors with mechanical combination locks, painted CMU walls, epoxy wall coatings, and floor drains. The room must have both dive-quality air compression systems (5,000 psi) and shop-quality air service (120 psi) with dial-down regulators. HVAC, fire alarm/detection, wet pipe sprinkler systems, and industrial LED lighting with manual controls are required. The space must be in close proximity to Dive Maintenance rooms and include provisions for FF&E items like fire extinguishers.
