About this file

This document is an amendment to a solicitation for the Hurricane Florence Recovery Training and Storage Facilities at MCB Camp Lejeune project. The amendment provides responses to contractor questions on requirements for three facilities: the MCCSSS Log Ops School, the II MEF Simulation/Training Center Replacement, and the LOGCOM CSP Warehouse Replacement. Key details include clarification that an elevated loading dock is not required, operable partitions in simulation rooms must go from the raised access floor to the ceiling, the auditorium will not include windows, and the entire 50,000 square foot outdoor training area must be open cell concrete pavers. The amendment also specifies ballistic window requirements, ceiling height measurements, stair construction, and confirms radiant barriers are required for the exterior walls.

P1338 - Reference Finish and FF&E Schedule for Building 1338 – Storage / Shipping / Receiving space indicates an elevated loading dock.

1) Please further define the requirements of this dock; is the room level required to be elevated to match this ramp elevation with internal ramps?

P1338 - Room Requirements for Classified Simulation Rooms require raised access flooring. If the Bid Option for Folding Partitions is selected, please clarify the government’s expectation for continuity of sound separation between slab and top of the raised access floor system and above the ceiling mounted folding partition.

Operable partitions will go from raised access flooring to ceiling. Adequate structure required to support system. Access floor needs to remain open for cabling.

Part 3 -

Chapter 5 5.2

P1338 - The RFP requires windows in the auditorium which is not located on the exterior perimeter of the building. It is also located on the classified side of the facility. Please clarify if windows are allowed in classified corridors and other classified spaces, and if the auditorium is supposed to use borrowed light from the corridor.

The auditorium, as shown on the architectural concept floor diagram, will not include windows. It will be provided with borrowed light. Windows are not allowed in classifed rooms or spaces adjacent to exterior walls.

Corridors adjacent to exterior walls are allowed to have windows.

UNITS and D305007 COMPUTER ROOM AIR CONDITIONING (CRAC) seem to be redundant given the base system is defined as VAV central station air handlers with energy recovery. Amendment response #42 clarifies VAVs with DX split system backups to server rooms and DOAS not required to serve VAV air handlers. Please indicate where DOAS, FCUs, and CRAC units are to be installed or if these sections should be deleted.

The life cycle cost analysis provided by a third party consultant determined that the VAV AHUs with chilled and heating hot water coils and energy recovery in the AHUs are to be used in these buildings.

Shut-off boxes with hot water reheat will provide zone temperature controls for most spaces. Outside air will be provided through the main VAV AHUs. DOAS are not needed. Split system DX FCU's or CRAC units can be used for server rooms, electrical rooms, or other rooms as needed.
