About this file

This document is a Data Item Description (DID) for a Repairable Item Inspection Report required in contractor repair contracts.

The DI-PSSS-80386A specifies the format, content, and use requirements for inspection reports that contractors must submit when performing repair work. The report documents the contractor's inspection of malfunctioning units and details the extent of repair performed. This deliverable enables the Government to analyze malfunction types and quantities while evaluating the need for corrective actions. The report must be submitted in the contractor's format and include eleven required data elements: inspection item analysis number, contract number, contractor's Cage Code, unit or item Cage Code, National Stock Number (NSN), part number (PN), serial number (SN), repair date codes, quantitative details of unmet electrical and physical test requirements, a concise description of repair actions required including all parts replaced and adjustments made, and the cause of item malfunction with all quantitative details. This DID became effective June 27, 2017, superseding the previous version DI-ILSS-80386, and is approved for public release with unlimited distribution.
