About this file
This is an AFMC Form 158 Packaging Requirements document for Purchase Instrument Number FD20202600582-00, Version 1, generated on March 25, 2026. The document specifies packaging and marking standards for five line items identified by National Stock Numbers.
The primary packaging requirement applies to item 5977015988336FD under PACRN AAA, which mandates compliance with MIL-STD-2073-1 (Standard Practice for Military Packaging) and MIL-STD-129 Revision R (Standard Practice for Military Marking). A critical requirement addresses United Nations-implemented restrictions on wood packaging material (WPM), specifically targeting invasive species such as the pinewood nematode. All wooden lumber, pallets, containers, boxes, reels, dunnage, crates, frames, and cleats must be constructed from debarked wood and heat-treated to 56 degrees Centigrade (133 degrees Fahrenheit) for 30 minutes minimum. Certification and marking by an accredited agency recognized by the American Lumber Standards Committee (ALSC) is required, with reference to the International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM No. 15). Shipping containers must be marked according to MIL-STD-129 and may require additional markings including unit serial numbers, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) names, and OEM model numbers as specified on the AFMC Form 158. Four additional items (5977DTG2602AAFD, 5977DTG2602A9FD, 5977DTG2602A8FD, and 5977DTG2602A7FD) are designated as PACRNs AAB, AAC, AAD, and AAE respectively, with no packaging data required. The document was prepared by Packaging Specialist Bradley J. Talbot, 406 SCMS/GULAA, contact 801-777-8840, signed on March 18, 2026.
