RE: South Amelia Island Shore Stabilization Project Peer Review
Dear Mr. Flake:
The FDEP requests Taylor Engineering to peer review the subject project permit applicant’s responses to Request for Additional Information #2 (RAI#2) questions. Please find our proposal for an additional cost modification of $15,930.72 for a new Task 6 to allow senior professionals from Taylor Engineering to review permit applicant’s numerical modeling and non modeling RAI#2 responses and supplemental documentation.
Notably, our proposal includes the new Task 6 (Review Applicant’s Response and Supplemental Documentation to RAI #2). Thus, the additional cost for Task 6 increases the total contract cost by $15,930.72 to $42,917.82.
Please contact me or Dr. Michael Kabiling if you have any questions or need any additional information.
Sincerely, Kenneth R. Craig, P.E.
Vice President
South Amelia Island Shore Stabilization Project Peer Review

The Florida Park Service requested that Taylor Engineering prepare the following scope of services to perform a peer review of the permit application package and for additional information.
Task 1: Data and Modeling Review
Taylor Engineering will review the numerical modeling related data, model application, and modeling results presented on pages 24 – 37 of Attachment #21 of the permit application. We will review the model calibration/verification data, procedure for model validation, and input data and application of the model for the evaluation of pre and post excavation conditions as presented in Attachment #21. Our reviewwill include an opinion on the adequacy ofmodel input data used formodel calibration/verification and model application for evaluation of pre and post excavation conditions. We will comment on the potential impacts of the proposed borrow area discussed on page 37 of Attachment #21. This scope of work excludes direct review of the actual data used in the numerical modeling; our review is limited only to the material presented in Attachment #21.
